Thanks for downloading this mod. More updates will be coming soon. Feel free to leave feedback and let me know what you would like to see in future versions.
Simple Zombies Reborn is an updated and expanded continuation of the original Simple Zombies mod by sollaholla.
The original mod was already legendary, and many people still remember the videos, the survival gameplay, and the atmosphere it created. This rebuild exists because the old version had several major gameplay limitations, especially in how infected were streamed and spawned around the player. If you were not looking behind you, parts of the world could feel too empty, while infected could still build up unfairly outside your view. That system has been heavily reworked here, along with extensive bug fixes, balance improvements, and new mechanics.

- Military support features, emergency service events, and expanded survival world systems.
- Numerous old bugs fixed, rebuild-related issues resolved, and overall gameplay balancing improved.

CHANGELOG:
v1.0.5f
- Added fuel.enabled and an F10 Fuel System toggle, so players can disable vehicle fuel management without turning off Infection Mode.
- Rebalanced abandoned vehicle fuel. Repaired apocalypse cars now usually start with lower fuel, tanks above 70% are uncommon, and 80-100% tanks are rare.
- Increased fuel consumption and fuel leak rates so driving and punctured tanks make fuel matter more during travel.
- Improved fuel tank damage handling. Tank shots no longer instantly disable vehicles or hide the fuel HUD while fuel remains; repeated near-tank hits can still start a leak, and sustained fire can still rupture or destroy the vehicle.
- Full vehicle repairs from trainers or repair systems now clear leaked or ruptured tank state once tank, engine, body, and vehicle health are restored.
- Fixed stamina timing so drain uses real script tick time instead of frame time, making sprint drain more consistent across different PCs.
- Rebalanced stamina drain. Unarmed running drains faster, sprinting with firearms costs much more stamina, and simply walking with a firearm no longer drains stamina.
- Improved zombie and abandoned vehicle spawning while driving, with higher active caps, more spawn retries, and better nearby traffic conversion.
- Stabilized covered road tunnel spawning where GPS is unavailable, reducing zombie pop-in/pop-out and road lookup spikes.
- Reduced player-state autosave frequency and distance checks to lower micro-stutters during play.
- Kept vanilla shop scripts disabled so clerks and normal shopping do not return, while zombie mod shelf looting remains active.
- Merryweather drop guards now use a hostile relationship group and attack the player inside drop zones instead of behaving friendly.
- Bundled the full XML language packs and fixed merge priority so custom XML translations override built-in fallback strings.
- Fixed keyboard Q + Space on the GTA radio wheel triggering the controller inventory shortcut.
v1.0.5e
- Major pass across survival systems including stamina, fuel, convoy support, localization, persistence, and spawn behavior.
- Reworked stamina drain to feel harsher and more realistic during running, aiming, and shooting.
- Added exhaustion penalties, reaching zero stamina can now slow the player or cause stumbles instead of allowing endless sprinting.
- Melee weapons no longer drain stamina when equipped, firearms still affect movement and combat endurance.
- Improved fuel system with better leak handling, puncture rules, and more realistic damaged vehicle behavior.
- Refined military convoy behavior, including passengers, idle arrival states, and overall travel stability.
- Improved repair interaction flow and fixed edge cases during combat and exhaustion states.
- Tightened zombie spawn validation further to reject more bad elevated placements.
- Tightened abandoned vehicle spawn validation to reduce unstable wrecks, overlaps, and traffic pileups.
- Improved localization with clearer UI labels and better menu readability.
- Additional bug fixes and long-session stability improvements across the SHVDN2 branch.
v1.0.5d
- Fort Zancudo and Prison are now disabled, no more air defense, snipers, or guards spawning in those areas.
- Added a fuel system.
- Improved responsiveness of help prompts like repair engine and similar interactions.
- Fixed Weapon Crate duplication exploit completely.
- Flashlight and Suppressor now properly attach to weapons.
- Tightened zombie spawn validation again to reject more rooftop, billboard, and similarly bad elevated placements.
- Tightened abandoned vehicle spawn validation to reject more overlapping, tipped, and unstable traffic pileups.
- Minor optimization improvements and small fixes.
v1.0.5c
- Large stability and systems pass across the rebuilt SHVDN2 version.
- Fixed help text interaction reliability so repair, recruit, configure, and similar prompts respond on the first proper key press.
- Reworked bodyguard persistence and task restore so StandStill and Guard behave more reliably after loading.
- Fixed multiple persistence and autosave issues affecting player position, infection state, outbreak progression, guards, and saved survival world data.
- Fixed several cases where infection or outbreak state could return incorrectly after death or after restarting the game.
- Rebalanced infection terminal stage flow, countdown behavior, emergency antidote drops, and outbreak reset handling.
- Tightened zombie and abandoned vehicle spawn validation to reduce bad roof, mountain, bridge, and exploding spawns.
- Improved front-of-player streaming so zombies and abandoned vehicles stop popping in and out as aggressively while traveling.
- Increased zombie density more safely with a higher active cap and smaller, more frequent streamed waves for a fuller apocalypse atmosphere.
- Refined support vehicle spawning, pickup, dismissal, gunner behavior, and route recovery while reducing the most expensive scripted road-clear behavior.
- Further polished emergency systems, repair prompts, LS Customs behavior, and general long-session stability.
v1.0.5b
- Moved save data, bridge files, and logs into scripts/SimpleZombiesReborn to keep the scripts folder cleaner.
- Added automatic migration for older save data, logs, and convoy request files from flat installs.
- Cleaned up the release package and improved the rebuilt mod file structure.
v1.0.5a
- Reworked forward culling so infected ahead of the player no longer pop in and out while driving toward them.
- Tuned zombie streaming for a denser world with fewer micro-stutters.
- Improved military support limo handling, boarding flow, and waypoint travel stability.
v1.0.5
- Replaced the unstable old convoy setup with a military support transport called through the phone.
- Added timed support travel with waypoint routing and mounted cover fire.
- Improved hospital respawn protection and vehicle bite protection.
v1.0.4f
- Fixed several cases where the player could be forced out of vehicles by survival logic.
- Reduced how often hostile survivors and Merryweather events can return after being cleared.
- Improved wipe handling so zombie or infection deaths restore the intended starter survival loadout.
v1.0.4e
- Made Infection Mode behave more like a separate game state from Story Mode.
- Disabled corpse looting, infection progression, and other survival-only systems while Infection Mode is off.
- Improved persistence handling when leaving Infection Mode.
v1.0.4d
- Fixed broken apocalypse traffic behavior and repeated repair prompts on random world vehicles.
- Improved infected spawn fallback logic for difficult travel routes such as bridges and long road sections.
- Rebalanced early infection symptoms so the first stage is less punishing.
v1.0.4c
- Fixed Virox Antidote pickup issues with older inventory save data.
- Reduced repeated antidote prompt spam.
- Player death caused directly by infected now wipes the full survival profile and persistent world state.
v1.0.4b
- Added infection escalation based on bite count.
- Added Virox Antidote relief drops after infection.
- Added emergency LS Customs reopen events.
- Further reduced Merryweather rewards and spare ammunition.
v1.0.4a
- Added persistent autosaving for guards, vehicles, placed props, inventory, and survival loadout.
- Removed manual save and load options from the main menu.
- Reworked the survival loadout into a separate apocalypse profile.
v1.0.4
- Added dynamic apocalypse pressure, noise-driven spawning, and zone-based danger scaling.
- Added government broadcast flavor messages during the outbreak.
- Improved horde pacing and long-term survival pressure.
v1.0.3d
- Fixed startup flow issues.
- Improved general long-session stability.
- Tweaked internal spawn pacing.
v1.0.3c
- Fixed several menu and controller edge cases after enabling Infection Mode.
- Improved load order for restored scripts.
- Patched additional world cleanup and spawning issues.
v1.0.3b
- Added special infected variants, including Brutes and Screamers.
- Added infection symptoms and an on-screen infection progress bar.
- Fixed several zombie damage and spawn balance issues.
v1.0.3a
- Restored the original multi-script apocalypse flow more faithfully.
- Fixed the F10 menu setup and Infection Mode activation path.
- Fixed several rebuild reference and decompiler artifact issues.
v1.0.3
- Initial Simple Zombies Reborn compatibility rebuild on the original ScriptHookVDotNet v2 architecture.
- Restored the menu, infection toggle flow, and core survival systems from the original runtime model.

Hey, quick note — no updates until April 17–18.
There are still many bugs, and I want to fix everything properly instead of pushing small patches.
I prefer releasing a stable version that will actually last, since I don’t have beta/nightly builds.
Thanks to Zona Comics for bug reports and ideas.
If you find bugs, feel free to comment. Thanks for the support!
Please I love your mod so much. The fuel system is my only complaint. Give us the option to turn it off ASAP please.
@Eros Petrakis Okay, maybe tomorrow😁
I suggest that you should add a feature of infected infecting npcs, turning them into a zombie.
@Mo4tal That's a good idea. I'd like to add it, but it currently causes a lot of bugs...
Guys, new update is must ready and coming soon!
@sonydev Wow, so many improvements! I'm going to love testing this new version.
@Zona Comics Oh thanks! Glad to see you here.
Yoo finally bro, keep up the good work
Why can't i still refuel my car with the jerry can that i found at the gas station😭
@likegemplay Right now, you can only use fuel cans from the inventory. I have some issues with that function, but maybe I'll add it in the next update😋
@sonydev take your time bro keep up the good work, btw W update
@Mo4tal thanks bro, means a lot, more updates coming soon :)
what the name of tamara greenways husband
@holden111111x Michael

So... you've actually added the fuel toggle system like I've asked. You're the best bro, well deserved 5 stars 😁
@Eros Petrakis Thx brother, good game 🥇
umm acctually. in my condition. the "F10" menu wasn't show up. and its showing text "2 scripts are running but are using the v2 api". i was downloaded the latest version of every installation requirement. is there any chance to fix it?
@IzuKovalskia Hey, you downloaded SHVDN here? https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases
@sonydev yes, fyi. it just the f10 menu did not show up. the inventory is work for me. so for activate the apocalypse mode. i need to change manually from the .ini file
