USAF 44th FS F-15C Eagle
The F-15Cs of the 44th Fighter Squadron have soared through the skies of Japan since 1979, providing crucial air defence for over four decades.
Although currently still stationed at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, the USAF has started withdrawing older airframes from the 44th and 67th FS to be eventually replaced with a rotational deployment schedule with more advanced aircraft such as the F-22, F-35, and F-15EX.
While some are sad to see the Eagles leave, they are excited about seeing more 5th Generation jets flying regularly in and around the Ryukyu island chain.
