Input Detection Script v2.0 (Revamped)
About:
A lightweight script that shows you if GTA V is detecting your keyboard inputs.
If you press a key, the script displays which key was pressed.
Useful for debugging when menus/scripts don’t respond, helping you check if the problem is with the input itself or the mod.
Not intended for regular gameplay.
Features:
- Detects most common keyboard keys (letters, numbers, function keys, arrows, symbols, etc.).
- Also detects mouse buttons now (Left & Right).
- Press counter shows how many times an input was pressed (resets after 2 seconds of inactivity).
- Cleaner & optimized code for better performance.
Requirements:
- Script Hook V
- Script Hook V .NET (🔸Nightly Build🔸)
Installation:
1. Place `InputDetectionScript.dll` into your GTA V `scripts` folder.
2. Launch the game and press any key to see detection feedback.
* To uninstall/disable, delete the .dll or move it out the scripts folder.
Changelog:
- v1.1: Added more detectable keys.
- v1.2: Option to display notifications as subtitles.
- v2.0 (Revamp):
- Fully optimized code with dictionary-based system.
- Support for many more keys (arrows, symbols, numpad operators, more).
- Added mouse button detection (Left & Right).
- Added press counter (resets after 2 seconds of inactivity).
- Switched to subtitles (UI.ShowSubtitle) to avoid notification limits.

Can you change the prompt subtitles to a message pop-up window or other location, because the subtitles will block the prompts of many other scripts, as well as the subtitles of plot tasks
@JoyLucien Oh I really didnt think of this. Do you mean like the messages above the minimap? Or like the ones that show as help-text in the left-top corner on a black background? I can try and maybe I will make it so everyone can choose if they want it to show as a subtitle, notification or help-text. Thanks for the review!
@ww_aleeex Yes, as long as it is not a subtitle area, I suggest messages above the minimap
@JoyLucien alright! when i will have some time i will work and add the option to choose between messages above the minimap and subtitles
@JoyLucien did it. waiting for approval now.
@ww_aleeex good job!
@JoyLucien thanks bro
I've tried use it and I suggest you remove the "-press", for example, press F and it says "key-F", so it looks cleaner!
By the way, can you make this mod? https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/cutscene-camera-remover#comments_tab. The author also placed the prompt text when switching cameras at the position of the subtitles. When I watch a cutscene, the prompt words that appear when switching between free camera and resuming the cutscene camera occupy the subtitles.
@JoyLucien Oh sorry bro i kind of stopped modding that year but i came back now and about your request I dont really think i can make it im not sure how to do it
@ww_aleeex It doesn't matter, now I can write scripts, I have modified his mod by decompiling
@JoyLucien oh thats nice bro sorry again
Also, add Xbox controller support
