Latest changelog (Most recent, includes all previous changelogs)
5.5.0
This is a fairly big update, mostly because it completely revamps the force feedback model. It now uses traction data from the wheels to provide force feedback, which is very accurate, removes a number of options you need to configure and should feel more natural overall, and much more detailed.
A downside of this detail exists for custom add-on maps: If they're low quality, this can be felt through the steering wheel, but this may only be noticeable for higher-end wheels, which should have options to blend and filter out such noise.
Following is a full overview of the changes in this update:
Overhaul force feedback (again):
* FFB is now based on slip angle of each wheel
* FFB takes weight transfer/tyre loads in account now
* FFB scales with terrain grip levels
* Includes general response curve visualization in FFB setup
* Response normalized for excessive fTractionCurve values GTA uses normally
* (can be disabled/made linear to feel more difference)
* Fix intermittent FFB loss for Fanatec wheels after alt-tabbing
* Fix script crash on trying to call unavailable FFB effect
Most prominent FFB settings (SATFactor, MaxSpeed, Gamma) are now obsolete for
ground vehicles, but are still used in amphibious/flying modes. They're hidden
away in an advanced menu. Back-up your settings if you want to revert!
Other wheel stuff:
* Improve WheelToKeyboard, now maps multiple input devices to any key
* Increase wheel rotation range up to 2880 degrees
* Improve device assignment menu
* Display currently assigned device to a control
* Display whether a device is disconnected or not configured
* Fix ineffective braking when reversing when using wheel
Improve driving assists:
* Use more accurate data sources to determine slip
* Fix brake force not scaled to handling brake force
* Fix TCS UI elements lingering when no throttle applied, if other throttle effects are active
* Fix ABS UI not coming up for GTA's ABS
Misc:
* Add vehicle-optional downshift protection with visual and audio cues
* Add pitch to g-force based camera movement
* Improve wheel bone rotation precision
* Update support for Wanted188's R32
* Allow configuring telemetry endpoint (IP and port in settings_general.ini \[Misc\])
* Allow saving full vehicle config instead of just empty/delta from base config
* Fix steering animation sometimes not loaded on initial game start
Enjoy the update!

Forgot to mention in the 5.5.0 changelog: But along with the FFB overhaul, it makes weird handling files very noticeable. For the best experience, grab a handling with a realistic amount of grip (~1.0 g's, ~1.2 g's if sporty) *and* a realistic slip angle (~10 degrees, less if hard/low profile, more if soft/high profile).
Enjoy the update! Should work great on laser-scanned tracks that don't have gaps or other issues.
@ikt what's the DismemberementASI.asi file for? Do I need it to put it in my files as well? I tried removing it and it seems like nothing happens. Installed it and also feels like nothing changed. Am I good without it?
@Leand
Remove Gears.asi and the ManualTransmission folder. If you installed DismembermentASI.asi for this script, remove that too.
@jke_gt2039
It's something to hide the player head while in first person - if you don't intend on using the custom first person camera, it's fine to remove. Otherwise the camera will clip with the player head.
@ikt Thanks bro,
gears.asi isnt working, im on windows 11, its not letting me play unless i delete gears asi
what do i do to use gears so i can have it working, i just want to deive man.
The mod is really great in GTA V normal. But I have a question, do you know how to install for RageMP ? I really love it to play with steering wheel on a RolePlay Server.
Bro i have a logitech g920 and i dont have all the radius of the steer, only a 90 degree not 900 degree, please help me
Hi, I have got all the settings right yet I am unable to shift gears through Logitech gear shifter. Please help! Thanks in advance.
the Gears.asi file wont let me start up my fivem how do i set this up
Didn't expect a mod can be that good, even better than a lot of games with native wheel/shifter support.
Can you tell us about the new upgrade of this mod because it dosnt work in the last version of gta v
So I first just wanna say that its amazing, but I'm having camera issues, I have fiddled with as many options as possible so I know it's highly likely not a case of my just not reading correctly. I can't look around much like my view is limited, I quite enjoy looking around the interior and currently can not do that, I've disabled the custom camera, enabled it then changed settings, I've tried all I can think so I'm just coming to ask...Is there a way to disable the "semi-locked" camera movemnet or no?
@200sxfan
It's related to the animation stuff: https://github.com/E66666666/GTAVManualTransmission/blob/master/doc/README.md#custom-camera=
If you want to use the stock first person camera and be able to look around, you need to disable the synced animations.
@ikt thank you for your assistance
Is there any way I can disable / from being the key that switches between manual and automatic? I already have that key for something else.
isit possible to make this work on a server for people to use ?
is there any way to fix the non visible traffic lights in the custom first person view
Read the description (and readme) please, people.
You can simply edit the hotkeys in the settings_menu.ini.
There will be no FiveM involvement from me.
Traffic light issue is described in the description.
@ikt So the mod works good for me, but I noticed that other drivers are invisible when this mod is in use and I know it's this mod because when I deleted these files they appeared. I really love this mod I just want to be able to use this mod along with the custom camera, I just wish the other drivers wouldn't disappear. If you know how I can fix this issue it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
@ikt Hey, small 'can it be done' question; reverb on first person cameras. I was wondering if it would be possible to have the sound pass through a reverb filter but idk about any audio scripts in GTAV as yet. I love your Camera Mod but all it's missing is directional sound and reverb for inside the cockpit, again that can be attributed to the game and maybe because sound in GTA is a separate entity that doesn't really interact with it's surroundings.
I think it's worth it to look into though, assuming you're not already :D
