Speed Plate.....
Hi. This is my first plugin that I've made, mostly at random trying to learn some LUA. Since it turned out being a working script, I thought I might as well release it to the public for anyone who might find it useful.
What it does ?
Basically it's turning your Number Plate into a working Speedometer. I thought that the vehicle Number Plate was anyways irrelevant to the player and it already sits in the lower center of the screen at most times.
While stationary, the Number Plate will cycle through Character's name and current Radio Station name. While moving, it would indicate the speed with the option to toggle between Metric and Imperial Systems.
The Number Plate will restore it's original number once the Player exits the Vehicle.
To toggle between Metric and Imperial Units Systems you can press the "\" [Back-Slash] Key that it's configurable inside the script's source.
The default Units System to always start with, it's also configurable inside the source code.

This is a good mod !!!
But, you need to add hot keys to access:
- 0-100kph(62mph) timer
- max speed recorder
@cdvxxx I don't promise anything, but I might give it a try to see if I can do that.
Also I can't tell exactly when that might happen...
What in gods name .... ? Some of the mods are so mind-blowingly awesome, I just can't even.

may be you make version with only value on plate, without inscriptions like "mph / km/h", "San andreas"...?
Need it for more bigger numbers for better far distance visibility
And what about distance-meter?
@Celthium Atm it's just a guinea pig on the operating table and it's not mine to release. If I'll consider that I have something really functional and useful to add, I will contact sakis25 and ask him if he wants to merge the code into an update.

1. I don't have any control over fonts or Plate's inscriptions. The Plate it's very limited in this regard.
2. I think I might consider adding an odometer, a top speed and 0 to 60 counters for the active car.
I can't guarantee that I can do it though... I'm just learning this coding stuff.
Nice idea for the mod, but in addition to what others have said about including a 0-60 timer, can you also incorporate a quarter mile timer and trap speed indicator?
A quarter mile timer I think it can be done, but the trap speed... I don't know how could that be calculated...
For the trap speed maybe you can set it to record the current speed as the car travels through the 1/4 mile? Just a suggestion
